Range reports? Savage FCP HS Precision 300 win mag

Ok, so there are several threads here, and on a few other sites, about this rifle, but, nobody has really posted up some results.

Does anyone have some range time and results they can share?

Target pics even better!

I've been on the fence about building a savage/custom set up, or just buying the Savage #19627, and accessorizing it with a cheek pad, etc...

Some real world results would be helpful.

I have this rifle,unfortunately I do not have any grouping shot pics. I am hoping to get out to the range again this weekend and ill shoot some groups. The best Ive been able to using the bi-pod is just under a inch at 100yds (only have done that once). I am still learning though, so I suspect it is better then that.I have been able to hit a 36" target at 560yds which is the longest Ive shot so far. The more I shoot the better it gets.

My biggest complaint is only the cheek weld. Ive put together some foam which has improved it but still not quite the fix im after and it could defiantly use a brake, which is next on my to do list.

Since these pics were taken ive added weaver 20MOA base and new rings.

I had the same problem with my .338 FCP HS Precision, no cheek weld...Tough to shoot a big boomer off your jaw. I installed Karsten Cheek Rest "A-Model", the fiberglass stock is plenty thick to support the holes I had to drill. Very comfortable now...

I'm surprised the .300 Win Mag doesn't come with a brake...

The 300WM sure could have used a brake. I think if savage had placed a Karsten Cheek Rest and a brake on this rifle it would be amazing. That being said nothing I cant fix.

Crawdad did your 338 come with that DBM?

I picked up a rem 700 adl 300 win mag for dirt cheap, $429 from bass pro shops, but now might sell her and go with the savage instead of picking up an AICS stock for the 300 win mag.
