Hi, I'm a British army sniper and I'm aware of the 12 and 20inch drill for Rapid Target Engagement, however I'm keen to get some information on any other drills or if there is a formula to work out a drill for any measurement , I look forward to any info

Re: Rapid Target Engagement

Can you elaborate more, please? It may just be lingo I'm not familiar with in your context... Lots of guys should have stuff to add later too.

Oh, and welcome to the 'Hide! BTW, I got a chance to party with some British scouts on leave in '02, imagine, 6 of them and 6 of us, all various infantry types. Yeah, we caused hell in Vancouver BC for nearly a week, almost got Soldier's Medals for saving a lady's life, got in some scuffles ourselves, and boy, did those guys have our backs, they even saved my buddy's ass when we weren't around! Killer allies. But seriously, you need to take Piers Morgan's ass back. We don't want him.

Re: Rapid Target Engagement

Yeh we've had some scuffles in med hat and Calgary when on leave from exercise on the prairie. Reference my last, the 12 inch drill where u mil the 12 inches (normally head to shoulder) and then work out your hold according to you mill reading ie - mil at 0.9, holdover 1, mil at 0.8, holdover 2 etc (apologies if I'm explaining something u already know) so I'm familiar with that drill as the 20inch drill for quick engagements. What I'd like to know is firstly is there a mathematical means or formula to work out a similar drill for any target size, ie 10 inches, or 16 inches etc or are there any drills in place already for these target sizes. Secondly, are there any other methods use for quick target engagement I may not already know. Hope this clarifies the last mate
