Thank you, bought the defender years ago with my first VIPER HSL. Back then, they did not fit well. Have they improved?Vortex Defender caps. E-10 and O-56
Aadmount covers. Higher than what others cost but worth every penny. Fold down flat, simple to install, super rugged, and they have a great warranty if needed.
Yup! Worth the wait!Aadmount covers. Higher than what others cost but worth every penny. Fold down flat, simple to install, super rugged, and they have a great warranty if needed.
Yup, this is what I use on my gen II.Aadmount covers. Higher than what others cost but worth every penny. Fold down flat, simple to install, super rugged, and they have a great warranty if needed.
If they are hard to slip on dip the rim that slides over the objective, or the ocular respectively in hot water, dry them off then slip them on while they are still warm it'll slide a lot easier. They cover a range of lense sizes so it just depends. I just put them on a Razor HD LHT and the objective lens is at the top end of that specific defender cap’s size range. It’s very tight to get it on and tough to position straight, but it definitely won’t be falling off. The ocular lens cap fits just right. They seem like decent quality but I’d definitely prefer screw on caps like I have on a Leupold scope.
My front O-56 does this as well. After looking it over I noticed the base that slides over the bell was slightly convex on the front side where it mates with the cap. I was able to make it work a little better by slightly bending the rims out. Worked well enough for a while, but I think it has settled back to the original state. Little disheartening to know it's not just mine. I'll probably contact Vortex to see about a replacement.I have four of the Vortex Defender sets for my Razor. Two were warranty replacements. Sadly none of the four will stay shut on the front cover. Look at them sideways and they flip open. The fit on the scope is good and tight, but they are worthless if they don't stay shut.
Sounding like the same experience I had years ago with my first Vortex. Can’t imagine how they build such great optics, and have not addressed this issueI have four of the Vortex Defender sets for my Razor. Two were warranty replacements. Sadly none of the four will stay shut on the front cover. Look at them sideways and they flip open. The fit on the scope is good and tight, but they are worthless if they don't stay shut.

As far as the E-10 eyepiece cover, I might give @Rob01 's hairspray trick a go. Been putting some electrical tape around my Razor to increase the thickness. Stays on better, but still has some play. I wish my O-56 latched as tight as the E-10 does.
Two sets of these. Worth every penny..Aadmount covers. Higher than what others cost but worth every penny. Fold down flat, simple to install, super rugged, and they have a great warranty if needed.
Vortex defender caps work decently on scopes that aren’t their own. They work like crap on Vortex scopes. Imagine that.Vortex defender caps are junk. They have never fit right enough to open the objective one with one hand. Instead, they slide off the end.
If I have to put hair spray or some other shit on my scope to make them fit, then what's the point.
Vortex needs to go back to the drawing board.
