Rifle Scopes Razor HD 5-20 vs NF NXS 5.5-22

Hey guys, in a predicament, having a 7SAUM being built right now, it’s mostly a mid to long range elk/deer gun, but definitely want eventually try my hand at steel (possibly out to 1000) we’ll I bought a used razor gen 1 5-20 for it, havnt mounted it yet since I’m deployed, but someone just offered to trade his nxs 5.5-22 for my razor, would it be worth trading? Whatever scope I get/keep, I’ll use for a little bit and then sell to get the mk5. Thanks in advance!

Stick with the Razor. Unless you are going to be shooting a very specific style, the FFP of the Razor trumps any advantage the NXS will provide.

Gen 1 Razors are still great scopes today. They have a good reticle, glass and a shit ton of adjustable elevation. Still have one on my SAC 308 after all these years because it just works.

Do you think the nxs could sell for more? May trade and sell the nxs right away to get a mk5. If not than ill just keep the razor for a while.

FWIW the Razor has a 35mm tube same as the Mk5. Which means you can use the same mount or rings when you switch. The Nightforce uses a 30mm tube so it will not use the same mount or rings.

Does the NXS have Zero Stop and HS Turrets?

If not, go for the Razor.

If it does, do the trade and sell it for a little more money.

The NXS only value is in a clone build. It's a 15 year old obsolete scope with shitty reticles and poor glass. The plus is you can look like a seal from 15 years ago and it doubles as a deadblow hammer.
