I'm considering the Razor HD LHT for my 300WM hunting rifle and would appreciate first hand opinions on the 3x15 series. I'm also considering the Steiner P4Xi 4x16 from cameralandny as a second option, I realize the HD is SFP and I'm good with that for a hunting rifle. My main concern is low light performance as both reticles seem to fit my needs !
Thanks!

I’d also like to hear some first hand experience as I’m debating the same scopes for a 308 hunting rifle. I’ve read some pretty positive reviews of both on another forum looking for input from the experts as well!

I’ve had the 42mm version since April. Can’t speak to the low light performance but the tracking was spot on out to 600 on my 260.
It now sits on my daughters rifle and she will hunt it this year.
Liked it enough that I bought another in the 50mm version and plan to put it on another hunting rifle when time permits. My main hunter wears a ATACR 4-16 and it’s staying that way for this season.

Own the Steiner too and it is pretty good in low light but weighs 12 oz more than the LHT.
Apples to oranges comparing the two.

gonna sell it shortly.

I own the 50mm version and like it a lot so far. It’s on a hunting gun that doubles as a range toy. I have pulled it out during dusk and dawn a number of times to get a feel for the low light performance and I’m very satisfied, but I don’t have any of the other scopes mentioned as a reference. I’ve never had a lighted reticle before and it is a game changer for low light. I didn’t think I wanted the feature and didn’t even plan on putting the battery in but my mind has been changed.

If you’re interested in the 50mm version Eurooptic has a model specifically made for them at a ridiculous price. I was going to get the 42mm version but with the newly available reticle and price for the 50mm from Eurooptic I couldn’t pass it up. It’s cheaper than the LE discount direct from Vortex.

I have the 50mm and so far I consider it the perfect hunting scope. Tracks true, excellent glass, relatively lightweight, capped windage, lockable elevation turret and very well designed reticle with illumination where it’s needed and none where it isn’t. Like it so much I bought a spare that’s just taking up room in the safe at the moment.

Doubt there will be very many folks here that will buy and use this scope vs other forums that are geared more to hunting.
Also, the scope dropped in the spring after most hunting seasons were closed. You will probably get more quality use- reviews after the hunting season we are now in.
Buy one and use it if it checks the boxes that you require for a scope.
Sell it if it sucks.

Of those three, I’ve only owned the V6 and not at the same time.
The LHT glass is quite good, actually really good... and it TRACKS spot on. I like the reticle as well. Floating dot is my jam when I can get it. Illumination is good at the lowest settings which is how I use illumination while hunting anyway.

It’s worth a try at $800 for sure.

I’m not much of a Vortex fan, but the weight of the LHT sucked me in to go on a lightweight 6.5 saum build. It’s tracked perfect out to 1100 yards and held zero after a few pretty good falls.

The glass is great , I think I would take it over a V6 or a vx6 but I haven’t had them side by side. Its not swaro z6 or X5 glass but not much is. Really like the reticle, illumination is so-so.

Long term durability time will tell. It doesn’t have that feel like a NF 2.5-10 where your pretty sure you could throw it off a cliff and re-mount it and be GTG but it’s held up fine so far.

I swore off Vortex years ago after owning a pile of Junky PST’s and red dots but this one checked a lot of boxes and is part of the Razor line.... so I took the gamble as well.

I don't have experience with Vortex , I do have a P4xi on my 18" 6.5cm hunting rifle and can just about see through the night with that thing. It has great low light performance, that being said I am switching it out with my NF 2.5-10 to save weight. The low light ability doesn't out weight the size of that scope for me... I also rotate scopes like its my job.

My 18" CM, P4xi with suppressor comes in at 10.5#, so not terrible. if you don't mind the weight the Steiner is a great option. Id ship you mine for $750

So looking at EuroOptic looks like the 50mm can be had for $100 cheaper is there any real downside to going with the 50mm objective vs the 42mm other than the extra 1oz?

Unless your worried about the Silhouette of the scope or mounting as low as possible there really isn’t any down sides. Go for it

Sorry but what do you mean by silhouette? My understanding is that all else being equal the 50 would be a little better in low light scenarios typically encountered in hunting situations. Being cheaper is also a bonus lol.

With Silhouette I’m referring to the appearance of the objective bell compared to the 42mm. It’s more of a personally preference if you want the 42mm scope because it would have a smaller silhouette.
More or less it’s not relevant. Go with the 50mm for the better potential to gather light.

I’ve got one being delivered today. I was going to buy a vx5hd and a buddy told me he had looked through both and said the glass in the Vortex was slightly better than the vx5hd. We’ll see, I’m going to end up with both because a bought a vx5hd off here yesterday.

Would love to hear your opinion after you spend some time with both of them.
