I’ve been shooting in heavy rain a lot lately and have been struggling with judging wind speed and direction downrange. Especially when winter is just ending and there’s no grass on the ground or leaves on the trees. I can’t pick up mirage, foliage doesn’t seem to react to the wind the same when soaked. What are you guys looking for when shooting in heavy rain?

Well, in "heavy rain" I'm just trying to get a sight picture due to keeping the lenses clear and reduced overall visibility. You can use the rain itself to help in judging wind to some degree, along with tree branches, clouds, etc. It's challenging, there's no silver bullet.
