Been tinkering with an Anker battery to mount to my Reap to keep from having to swap out the batteries with the IRX kit. Got the TNVC TRB kit and I could use it with the scope mount attached to a long picatinney rail, but it was too bulky hanging from my neck. The TRB housing would not attach to the rail on the scope with the scope mount removed.
The Anker 10000 mah that came with the system just did not feel right velcroed to the scope. So I purchased the round 5000 mah version and it snugs in well. There is a little curve under the scope battery housing that allows this to matchup nicely. It can also go on top of the battery housing too. I put Velcro on the scope and battery, then used a 12” velcro strap to further secure the battery to the scope. Still a little bulky but holds well in the hand.
It will work with the mount attached as well for those using the Reap for its intended purpose, but there is a little gap due to the battery touching the mount.
I ran it 3.5 hours last night and the charge still showed 2 of 3 bars, but I think I was close to just one bar. Temps were in the 70s. One night when we have a longer hunt I will try and run it dry to see how much time the 5000 mah will operate the scope.
With the battery port facing the rear of the scope the short cable on the TRB stays out of the way and seems to be snag resistant. And this could be used for the Patrol as well as the Reap.
