Rear bag for Pod Claws

What rear bag do you guys with Pod Claws use? I don't want to buy a rear bag and it not be high enough. With the extra inch and a half you get with the Pod Claws I am worried a Red Tac or TAB will not be high enough. I am looking at the Red Tac Tactical pillow.

Thanks,

Rhett

Re: Rear bag for Pod Claws

I have both the RedTac and TAB, for me prone, they work OK with Pod Claws but my left hand really has to John Wayne the bag to get it puffed up enough to raise the butt of the rifle using A5 and placing hand under the bag and squeeze it up works best depending on the angle. TAB on end works good or takes the least amount of squeeze to change its size.

Good luck!

Re: Rear bag for Pod Claws

I use the tactical pillow. I love it for for every position. I would assume it will get high enough because I barley squeeze my bag for where I need it, I am also just using the 6-9 Harris.

It keeps your rifle very stable also because its so wide.

Re: Rear bag for Pod Claws

I made my own bag thats 8 inches tall. I have to squeeze it a bit to get on target @ 100. My range is slightly up hill and I lay it on its side for shots past 400. It works well enough for me. I don't know the dimensions on the red tac bags or any other ones. I am shooting off a harris 6-9 with claws.

Here is a comparison of rear bags.

You could go with the Badger Bone, it is the tallest of these that were tried. I have a TAB bag, and the 9-13 bipod on the Choate A5 style stock. Sometimes it takes a little muscling to get it where I need it, but it works great. I just need to change out my bipod for the 6-9 and it would work better

Re: Rear bag for Pod Claws

I find my tab bag to be of no use where I shoot prone. Reason being, the range has zero prone positions, so I make do under the bench. Problem here, is there is a slight down ward slope from shooting line, to targets, and prone is slightly lower. I have to use the range sand bags.

Need something bigger, for various proned scenarios in the field as well.

That's probably the route I need to go.
