I have decided to put a aftermarket barrel on my savage 110 FCP currently chambered in the 338 lapua. I have decided to stick with the 338 lapua . I have decided to go with a prefit shilen barrel that they are going to chamber for a 250 grain berger bullet. What twist rate , diameter , groove, and length should I go with ? I really don't care about weight but will be hunting with it but can drive very close to hunting spots. How much of a difference in fps and accuracy should I expect over the factory 24" + 2 " brake?

I put a Shilen select match on my old 110BA, 1-10 twist. It shot the 300 Scenars at 2850 with 91.5 of H1000 out of a 27" tube. I want to say the factory barrel was shooting 2750 or so, but its not apples to apples so I wont call that whole 100fps just the barrel improvement. The barrel shot night and day better than the factory, sub 0.5 @100, but I still felt there was room for improvement...

Currently barreling up another 110BA with a Bartlein 1-9.5 modified M40 (1.25" breech), this one ditches the barrel nut and goes to a remington style barrel with a trued receiver. Will post what velocity and accuracy this one gets when its done.
