Recommendations on Cheek Riser

I have set up about a dozen rifles using the XLR Cheek riser and 1/4”x20 pitch standoffs from Grainger. You have to cut them to length from each end (threads dont extend all the way through so you can cut all from one end.)

I either devcon or g-flex the standoff in place depending on how snug the fit is in the drilled holes.

2 examples below. One woth riser installed and the other with it removed to show the standoffs.

I know this may not be the most appropriate place to pose this question, I’m sorry I never got into technology so much per say. I own a pretty healthy handful of firearms including rifles but have not purchased anything new in probably 20 years. I came across a deal the other day that I could not resist and that brings me to this. I have a new Remington model 700 ADL Tactical bolt action with a picatinney rail in .308

I’m not trying to get out of here with out doing the work but I’m just hoping for some help. I need recommendations on an optic set up to include rings and mounts for the rail with a scope in 3 to 9 at a minimum of 40 mm of field of you for $200 out the door. I know that seems crazy but based on my research I can do it with brands like Simmons, Monstrum tactical, and a handful of other basement bargain brands for way less than that. That’s why am asking for assistance at the $200 price range. Again it’s a bolt action with the picket Tenney rail on it already thanks advance for any help you can provide

Th Bradley is an option, just not very clean looking and seems a little “make-shift.” Im sure it works fine.

I researched a good bit before using the XLR and the stock modification is not too displeasing even with the riser removed. It may not be for everyone as it tequires some skill to get everything lined-up, drilled squared and set.

Good luck either way.

Building up a rifle which will use the Manners EH1 non adjustable to save weight. Going to run a 50mm scope and not sure if the stocks comb will be enough or if ill need a cheek piece.

Any recommendations for aftermarket ones?

Anyone use Manners new CF piece they mold and paint match?
Here is a pick of the carbon fiber that was designed for the mcs-cs shorty stock that will also work on the EH1, it weighs in about 2 to 3 ounces. Nothing fancy, simple spacers for height adjustments. thanks

Tom, I own 5 EH-1 stocks. Are these cheek risers available as a kit? With most scope and mount combos a little cheek elevation would be nice without adding the weight of conventional hardware.

They are! I talked about it to Robert from Manners when I was ordering my stock. He said they can paint match the scheme you have and ship it out later if you decide later you want to add it or if you already own the stock.

I do like it. Robert did an excellent job explaining it and showed me some sample photos on instagram. I honestly hope I dont need it, love the appearance of the stock without it, but this is a very nice looking option.

If you want to install it on my stock before shipping it out on a T&E / review basis, I could do that for you ;)

Check out God'A grip.. it's a nice soft rubber, almost tacky that promotes good cheek weld. I run one on my EH1 and like it alot. Im almost certain you'll need a riser if you are used to adjustable combs.

That new riser from manners looks interesting but you should ask them to weigh it.. might be better off just getting an EH1-A

EH1A is about a pound (18oz exactly) heavier. Their add on kit is about 2-3oz.
