Re: Redding neck bushing
What other people are using is not really relevant to you.
Even if they are using the same brand brass batches do vary .
The best idea is to measure your own brass and bullets and buy a bushing that is right for you.
The way to work it out is seat a bullet that you are going to use into a sized case . Measure the diameter of the neck in the middle of the neck . Then you have very basicly three choices of seating neck tension.
Subtract .001 from that neck diameter and thats the size bushing for light neck tension . hand fed rounds .
Subtract .002 Medium neck tension for general shooting , bolt guns and light to medium weight bullets.
Subtract .003 Higher neck tension for Autos , big calibers , heavy bullets .
This is very general as different situations may call for higher or lower neck tensions. I suggest you buy all three sizes and you have some choices as brass thickness and hardness can vary .
