I know everyone thinks that every newsworthy event is a .gov psyop, but you've got a ton of mentally disturbed adult men that are offing themselves at an ever-increasing rate, and the likelihood that one of them flips that switch from quiet self-harm to taking out a few others is substantially non-zero. The media's going to make hay every time this happens, obviously, because the majority of the perpetrators can be misleadingly described as anti-government/anti-women/racist types.

Unless one makes a habit of wandering into bad areas of town at the wrong time, the greatest threat of random violence is going to come from people that probably look a lot like you. This is important to understand for anyone with a serious interest in community defense.

Possibly true, but I'm even more worried about broader threats coming from all the dudes that didn't get treated well by the public school system, didn't get into college because white males have no value, didn't get a good job because those largely don't exist for uneducated workers, and who don't have meaningful relationships with either sex because they were never taught how to form them. They're drunk and/or stoned, wasting away in mom's basement, consuming gigabytes of toxicity, and utterly devoid of purpose.

This really large group consists of many cohorts who are unpopular in this forum - but it also consists of vets and Christians and dudes with whom we went to school and the guys who stood next to us on the assembly line during our first shitty job but were never able to advance. Stereotypes have their place but I suspect that anything not strictly based upon real-time behavior will not be particularly useful.
