I have a 700 in .300WM with a Sako Extractor installed. This was built by the Arnold Arms Co. around 1999. The 700 has a Badger DBM installed by GA Precision.
I have multiple failure to extract/eject with the brass getting hung up inside the ejection port. It is random and happens when I cycle the bolt both fast and slow, but more so when I cycle the bolt fast. I've searched and found issues regarding the Sako Extractors, the angle of the brass hitting the port, and ejector springs too stiff.
My brass seems to be getting dinged at the mouth - the ones in the pic were ran through several times and are quite dinged. Also looking at the pic of the Sako Extractor it is roughly 180 degrees from the ejector - other extractors seem to be offset more and I'm wondering if this is part of the cause....if the angle of the brass is wrong.
Options I have consider include purchasing a Pacific Tool and Gauge bolt and having it installed - any other routes? I've tried playing with the ejector spring tension, but no luck. The Sako Extractor has no crud/brass to make it bind. If I go with the PT&G Bolt who would be the smith to send everything off to?
Any help is much appreciated!
