I just bought a new remington 700 and it will squeak when I close the bolt about half the time does it just need to be cycled a lot more to break in or is there anything I need to do sorry for the noob question
Yeah...... Metal to metal usually creates squeaking noises. A little, and I mean little bolt grease on the lugs and camming area of the bolt will cure that issue, I think.
Just make sure to use a gun grease like Tetra, or other high melting point grease. Blue bearing grease can melt and get down in your trigger group creating a mess. Ask me how I know.
