Ok, I am stupid, but was wondering what is going on here! The follower on the right is from a 1970 rifle and is missing the "lip" as I call it (looks original). I put a "lipped" one in and the bolt does not drag so to speak against it, like it does without the "lipped" one. My question is what is the better option for the follower ?? This is just a hunting rifle, but am confused as it seems the "lip" keeps the bolt more free....Opinions?? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

Ok, so now I ask why?? The older one makes the bolt "harder" (not like its a huge deal, but def feel resistance) to work, that is a good thing I am guessing?? Seems the other one makes the bolt more "free"...

Not sure it works better or not. They seem identical except for the raised lip on the one on the right which seems to keep the bolt from "dragging" on it creating it to "feel" tight and less free

Own a couple of r700s and I have noticed some difference in the stiffness of the spring. They look the same extended but some are just stiffer. Try racking a full mag all the way to empty with each and make sure they both will feed every round if you haven't already done so. Worst feeling ever when a giant is out in front of you and the gun jams!
