I posted a thread yesterday asking for a recommendation between the 597 and the 10-22. Last night I went to an Academy in Sherman Texas to look at what they had in stock in a 10-22 or 597 model. Anyway, the clerk told me that Remington had issued a recall notice on the 597 in either 22 WMR or 17 HMR. When I got home I looked it up and sure enough I found this link on Remington's website:

This may have been posted in the forums before, but it was news to me as of last night. I figured with lots of Christmas shopping going on right now it couldn't hurt to post the link...
