Is the date code correct?Everything looks correct to me... But without examining it in person, and only seeing 1 side view of it, nothing really jumps-out at me as a clone...
2002 would be around the correct time frame for those. I was selling guns at the gun store during that time, and we used to sell a ton of the PSS (Police) rifles. Mostly .223, .308 Win, and .300 WinMag. But we did sell a few in 7mmRM. We also sold a ton of 700 LTR's in .223 and .308 Win.Is the date code correct?
Thanks you, hopefully this one is a good shooter. Heard these rifles were made for two years. Would hate to tear it down to build something else.2002 would be around the correct time frame for those. That was also the time I special ordered my 2002 Sendero SF 7mm STW... Still have that rifle, and it still shoots 1 ragged-hole groups.Unfortunately, after Freedom Poop (Group) took over Remington, they didn't build them quite like that anymore.
But I'm hoping now that Vista Outdoors has bought Remington, they'll bring back utilizing the same tight QC/QA tolerances and start pumping out some amazing rifles again.
This is a police model. Basically a sps in a H&S stock.Just to feed my curiosity is that a sendero special by chance? Im kicking myself now for not buying one i found in a out of town gun shop this spring. But i agree with whats been mentioned. In my bdl eld's, amax, and sst's gave the best groups. If you can get the vlds to the lands an still fit in the box mag you got it made.
Just saw this update... But that rifle most likely has a 1:9.25" twist, so you will do best with the 168 Berger VLD's seated about 0.010" off the lands. And the Berger 175 should do great, as well. 180's might be slightly heavy, but only 1 way to find out.. I shoot 180's out of my 7mm STW with a factory 9.25" twist, and it does fine, but I haven't tried anything heavier, because I'd just about guarantee the 195's won't stabilize at my current elevation.Sighted in using some older Winchester 150gr ammo shoots about 1 moa at 100 yards. I plan on hunting and doing some 1000 yard target practice with this rifle. Currently I have some Peterson brass, Wolf magnum primers, 162gr eld m and Retumbo powder. Wanting to try 175-180gr but not 100% they will stabilize in this rilfe. Found some Berger 168gr VLD hunting bullets to try as well. Any tips ?View attachment 7916478
I'm telling you... Try to get your hands on some IMR 7977 and CCI 250 primers with Nosler brass. You won't regret it...Tested 10 today five for groups and five for FPS. First shot was low right, second was high right. Last three were within moa all together it was 2.5 moa
Test 2 64 degress
68.5

The 2 stacked on the bull were to re-zero after my 3-shot group (pictured), which finalized my load development. The 3 shots together are the actual group.
That load has an ES of 3 FPS, and an SD of 1.

Would you believe that group is from a factory Remington 700 barrel, that was turned-down and metric-threaded to fit into a blueprinted Browning A-Bolt II action, then cut down to 22.5” and threaded for a suppressor.![]()
