Remington 700 Action Sizes?

I am looking to build a .300 win mag Model 700 starting from just an action. I understand that the Model 700 action has 3 sizes, small, medium and long. There is a pawn shop that has a Model 700 in 30-06 that I could pick up for cheap. Would this action work for building a .300 Win mag?

There are 2 action sizes. Long action- 30/06, 300WM, 7mmRM, etc. Then there are the short actions- 223Rem, 243, 308.

There are different bolt face sizes-

.378"- 223Rem, 204Ruger, etc

.473"- 308Win, 243, 30/06, 270, etc

.532"- 300WM, 7mmRM, etc

The action would work for a 300WM build so long as you did one of these options-

New bolt with .532" bolt face

Or

Open extisting bolt face from .473" to .532"

The first option is the best one....

I built my .300 wm off of a 30.06. I had my bolt opened up and a sako extractor installed. I have not had any problems with mine.
