Remington 700 action variations

Are there any variation in the Remington 700 action? I have two Remington 700 SA barreled actions; they may have different triggers. One would drop into a 2013 AICS chassis, and the other would not, it seemed it got hanged up by the trigger area (it's hard to see). They both would drop right into the same HS Precision police stock. I don't want to start grinding the AICS chassis unless I am 100% sure. Any idea?

Did the HS have a larger trigger more forgiving cutout?
It might have, I put them side by side, it's hard to tell, while I laid the one that wouldn't fit into the AICS, I think there's more metal on that action and preventing it from dropping right in, but like you said the HS might have had a larger cutout.

Problem solved, the rear of the barreled action needs to be lined up first, then it drops right in. Also, the AICS instruction isn't clear, the mag, and the bolt of the action need to be in place before tightening down the action screws or the mag wouldn't seat correctly, same as the floor plate of the regular stock. Now my Remington LTR with the AICS chassis is one bad ass looking rifle, scope next.

Well done! Post a pic when you have one. This was my old Savage in an AICS.

Here they are! The rifle in question is the one in the middle. I compared the one with the MK13 stock, the Crane people did trim their stock so the action would drop in easier, just needs scope now. The black PPS is my favorite, it's straight from the early 90's way before all the fancy scopes came out, it has the VARI-X III tactical on it, that was what most agencies used at the time before the Mark 4.

Very nice! I like the thumbhole version in that chassis.
