I read something Terry Cross wrote a couple of years ago about running the bolt on a stock 700 transfers the energy of the lug through the bolt stop into the bolt stop pin. I noticed my son's bolt release was not functioning. I pulled the action and was set to start tinkering. I began to drive out the bolt stop pin when 1/3 of it fell out. It had been sheared off.
I had a replacement pin in my parts bin, due to reading Terry Cross' post years ago.
I have been fortunate enough to receive training from 1milright, Terry's training company.

I wanted to share this to hopefully help the next man.
