I bought my SPS Tacticacl in .308 (20")around May of 2010. First thing me and my buddy who helped build it with me did was put an EGW 20 MOA base with Leupould ring's on a Bushnell Elite TAC. 3200 and shot the Tubb Final Finish round's. My ammo of choice after the break in was South West Ammunition, with 175 grain smk and winchester brass. Performed perfect and is still my ammo of choice today. We were away for work and while we were gone the beginning of this year we had a lot of time to pick out the parts for my rifle. I ended up getting a B&C A5 stock, took some time sanding down for the barrel to fit in but was not to bad. We then glass beaded with Pro Bed which came out flawless. I upgraded my scope to a Vortex PST 4-16 with MOA reticle that I bought used on here. Stayed with the EGW stock and went with TSR? 30mm ring's. I am happy with the PST track's perfect and true and I just overall like the quality and feel of the scope, even more then the Leupold MK 4's we use at work.
I upgraded the trigger to a Timney straight triger, have not adjusted yet still at factory setting of 3 to 3 1/2 when we measured it. I also put a KRG clamp on bolt knob.
We first had everything torqued down to 65"lbs just because we had the wrenches from work. It shot .99 at the best and worse up to 1.03 at 100m. I was very frustrated then we backed everything down to 35"lbs and brought the groups down consistently to .4-.5 moa. We tried some Hornady Amax 168 and some other brand's That shot well but again the Southwest 175 was the best. Im shooting .6-.8 moa at 300m. Hopefully I can update this post in the next month or two when I take it out t 800-1000. I am happy with everything I have purchased on this rifle and how well it shoots for a 2000 rifle.
