Was wondering what is going on here! The follower on the right is from an older rifle and is missing the "lip" as I call it (looks original). I put a "lipped" one in and the bolt does not drag so to speak against it, like it does without the "lipped" one. My question is what is the better option for the follower ?? This is just a hunting rifle, but am confused as it seems the "lip" keeps the bolt more free....Opinions?? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

The raised lip rests on the bottom of the bolt-way (at least that's what I call it) and holds the rest of the follower below the bolt path so that the follower doesn't drag on the bottom of the bolt. I have guns with each of the followers and have not noticed any feeding issues with either of them.
