I have a Remington 700 that needed new bottom metal. I ordered up a new bdl type trigger guard and and new front screw to match, and the front screw is about 1/8th-1/4" too short, and wont catch the thread of the action.
The stock is a sendero take off a.k.a HS precision, with a factory 700 action.
The trigger guard assembly looks reasonably flush with the stock. Should I make a longer screw, or remove material on the stock to allow the shorter one to work?
