Remington 700 Tactical Target Rifle

This is the second time I have posted this question, but maybe this section can answer more clearly.

I am trying to find out if the V shaped barrel for the Tactical Target Rifle can be threaded. From the other pictures I have seen, the barrel looks a bit thin, but I have no idea on required thickness etc.

If you can help, let me know.. thanks

I have asked Remington via email twice in the past two weeks, and I have yet to hear anything back.

dude dont buy that p.o.s.
buy the 308 700 5r http://snipercountrypx.com/p-499-remington-700-ss-5r-milspec-308-with-5r-m24-type-rifling.aspx . I personally think you will be much better off and you will save 700 dollars

I have know idea if that barrel can be threaded. I have a couple of the VTR's and they shoot very well for the cost of them. I have friend who owns the rifle you are looking at and it fires great groups.

Can a triangular barrel theoretically be threaded...yes. See link:

Do you really want that rifle...I would say HELL NO. Do you realize what $1700+ dollars can get you in terms of a quality rifle? The 5R linked above is an excellent example. Buy one...get it threaded...buy a base, rings, and put the additional money you save toward optics, ammo, or training.

dude id have to agree here. that mil spec is way more rifle. i have never liked that triangle barrel, it looks cheap. and for that much more money its crazy. buy the mil spec put the difference in optics

The Remington Tactical Target is a mil spec 5-R barrel. The problem I have with the SS is the stainless barrel. I would much rather have a black matte barrel, just my preference.

Buy the 5R and with the money you save have it Cerakoted , Gunkoted or Krylon it yourself Flat black ..... VOILA!

Krylon, DuraCoat, KG Gunkote, etc.........

For the money you could restock the ss 5r and have it painted and still save 200 bucks.
