Remington 700 varmint from Dicks sporting goods..

Been thinking of an inexpensive winter project.. thought i would pick up a 700 sps tac or varmint.. or maybe a savage 10fp-sr.. for my first home customization..
Saw this today and wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on it.. looks to be a " dicks exclusive "
Its the one that is $549 with a $50 mail in rebate.. not too bad.. i dont care about the scope.. i already have a vortex pst here ready to go.. i can throw that bundled one on a little marlin 60 22lr i have laying around..
$499 cost doesnt seem too bad.. 26" heavy barrel, x-mark pro trigger.. seems like a good base package for a stock upgrade..etc. ???
Oh.. and i am looking at this in 308 as i am already reloading in that caliber for my GAP-10

If you could wait till Black Friday, It might be worth it to you. I got one last year on sale for $449 and after rebates and what not, total cost was $289. Then I sold the 26" barrel for $100, gave the scope away and now need to get rid of the camo varmint stock. So basically got the action for my next build for $189. You might not get the deal I got, but you will get some money back from the initial purchase price.

True hdbiker1, but I was told by the manager at Dicks that Dicks' price guarantee would allow me to go back and get the difference in selling price if it was offered for less during Black Friday. So I jumped on one now, in .223.

I believe that I'll set this one up for my wife for a while, with a better scope, and save up for a build another year. I've already overspent on toys this year...
