remington 700 w/sendero barrel vs tikka t3

Re: remington 700 w/sendero barrel vs tikka t3

Sample size of 1 but a friend on mine's Sendero in 7mag regularly shoots under .5moa at 200 yds. Plus I think the Sendero rifles just look good!

Another sample size of 1, but the sendero in 300 win mag shot under 0.75 MOA consistently with 0.5 in high frequency. Did shoot the barrel out rather quickly though due to hot loads; however, this was the original blued barrel.

I absolutely love my sendero in 7mm. It is a solid performer with hand loads and used to shoot the hornady heavy mag rounds great as well. Groupings under a quarter are the norm, groupings under a dime are the exception(100yds).

Re: remington 700 w/sendero barrel vs tikka t3

I can't speak to long range hunting. BUUUUTTT.

My T3 Scout in 308 I have twice put 5 shots under a dime with black hills factory ammo at 100.

I have yet to do the same with my Sendero in 300win mag. But with the right load I do think it's capable.

Between my two factory finish hands down goes to the Tikka but with the Manners T5 and Timney that is on my Sendero I'd have to say I love them both equal. We'll see if that changes once the T4 I have gets bedded to the Scout. In the end of the day I don't think you can go wrong with either. Comes down to whats most comfortable to you I guess.

Re: remington 700 w/sendero barrel vs tikka t3

Depends on what type hunting you plan on doing. If you are gonna camp out on a shelf, reach out and touch from prone, then Sendero. If you are intending to get close and personal, and maybe shoot across a canyon then the T3.

Re: remington 700 w/sendero barrel vs tikka t3

I'd go with the scendero. If you are able to swing it walking or at short range with no rest you can get the best if both worlds. I have a 5r and a 700 police in .300 win mag. They are 1/2 moa on their worst days

Ps. Be wary of the mark iv lrm1 for hunting. I know now that they have the twilight lens system now bur haven't seen one. I had a 4.5x14x50 lrm1 and it's a rock solid scope, but..... It cost me one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen due to no light amplification. Could see in my monarch binocs easy but couldn't make him out in the scope. Looking back it was great for target shooting but a zeizz or a nf would serve yur hunting needs better. Like I said haven't seen the new lens system so dont crucify me if I am outdated a bit

You mean due to its inability to view objects in low light conditions. NO non night vision scope will AMPLIFY light. It just doesn't transmit as much light as some other scope will. RG

That being said, exit pupil diameter and lens coatings, and quality of glass, will determine the low light visibility of a scope.

Lets face it, some scopes are just brighter than others.

I've got a sendero sf 2 in .264 win mag and I'm seriously considering buying a 7 mag version some time soon for when I need more power.

My .264 is a tack driver and has to be one of the least picky rifles I own. It shoots well with every bullet I've run through it. I don't see my sendero as a rifle that is strictly limited to short walks and hunting out of a stand. It's probably at te top end of the weight range of what I'd be willing to carry, though.
