Remington Etronx Conversion Question

I have a Remington Etronx 700 in 243, it is a great shooter and for now the ammo is very cheap. But I need to start thinking about the future when ammo is no longer around. I have read that converting these to a standard rifle is as easy as a bolt and trigger. But I have also read that they are not able to be converted.

I am looking for someone with experience (did it themselves or had it done) to give an amen either way, any advice past an amen would be helpful also.
