Hey guys I am from Australia and this is my new rifle and is my first outside of a .22LR BRNO Mod.2, it is a Remington Model 700 PCR chambered in .308 WIN, it is running a Burris XTR II 5-25x50mm MRAD Optic with Burris Signature Rings set to 8.72 Mils (30MOA), a Harris Swivel 9-13 Notched Bi-Pod.

Im in need of a muzzle brake still and was thinking of using a Precision Armament M4-72 Severe-Duty Compensator, but I was wondering what other peoples opinions would be on what muzzle brake to run.

Im also in need of a Spotting Scope with a budget of around $1500 that is around the 20-60 power range and is going to be able to pick up a bullet trail reasonably well, was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

For the moment I am using factory ammo, it seems to love swallowing Hornady Precision Hunter 178GR ELD-X. Currently in the process of getting equipment for my reloading station, but once up and running will be looking to take advantage of the 1 in 10 twist with some heavier rounds and be loading 220GR ELD-X with RL-17.

In case you are wondering, the wrap is a SC-Ghillie Rifle Wrap and a SC-Ghillie Cobra Suit

Don’t bother with a brake that a gunsmith needs to install, shit is too expensive and takes too long here to bother with that kind of thing. Get yourself a self timing brake you can install and remove yourself.
Good ones we can easily get in Australia are the Area 419 Hellfire from delta tactical and the APA Little Bastard from huntsman firearms.

these are also going to be much more effective

whats the use of the spotting scope? i would highly consider a good pair of rangefinding binos instead, like a 10-15x (new vortex or sig). going to see trace better. easier to sit behind. at matches and in general i find im almost always zoomed the whole way out anyways and the really far ones should have hit indicators now anyways

PRS matches here are typically 500m max? x10-15 range finding binos will work great for that and double duty for ranging shit in the field.

1k meters / 1300y, with the average being between 400-600y here, and the 15x works great.

Looking to go out beyond 1000 yards eventually. Had a few friends recommend getting a Vortex HD 20-60x85mm Spotter.

Thanks, I will take a look.
