Hi all,

Was wondering if folks have any experience and tips on removing these parts that capture the folding stock on an AI AT rifle. Would like to remove them without damaging the parts.

The male portion has no visible holes or screws. The female portion looks to have a screw but the screw head has stripped from the previous owner.

Thanks!

The fastener goes through the flush cup, through the chassis body, and threads into the folding butt retaining nib. The nib has a radial hole through it so you can get a punch or hex key (sideways) for leverage.
If the hex head in the flush cup fastener is stripped then you can try lightly tapping a torx bit in the stripped hole to get a bite. You can probably heat the nib with an electric soldering iron. If that doesn’t work you may have to drill out the head of the fastener

You may be able to slip a stud remover/installer over it and remove it without marking it up if the shank OD of the pin is close to a standard fastener diameter.

A drill chuck tightened on the shank would work too.
