What am I missing ? The attachment screw comes up but then stops. Like the rail grabber is stuck on the bottom of the unit ?

    Nevermi d found this.

Yes but it sticks up so much higher versus using the screw.

I understand they went to that due to zero holding issues with just the screw but il cross that bridge later.

To save the screw and move between spotter and scopes, I found one of these at Own The Night. The height trade off comes back into fruition however. It has an open center which works beautifully over top. Trade off for convenience and modularity.

    Cost?

Maybe I will switch to that when I re arrange my stuff for the 100th to meet changing objectives lol

The riser on my Raptar was fairly easy to get off. I was able to pull it off by hand with a little bit of elbow grease. Nothing that would cause alarm.

I do NOT think they did it because of any alignment issues. Most rails out there are not STANAG compliant, and simply do NOT work with the Raptar without the adapter. Also, as was mentioned, larger clip-ons we're too high for the Raptar to clear using the low-profile mounting and required the riser to clear.

Did you have issues clearing your Xii with the Raptar? What mount/height were you using?

When you say "standard mount" do you mean with the installed riser still attached, or did you remove the Raptar riser?
. Was worried about it clearing the UTC

Yeah, that makes quite a difference. With the factory-installed Raptar riser removed, it sits pretty low on the rail. That's how I like it. It still clears the Xii, but it just manages to NOT clear the X.

I don't have the setup on my rifle at the moment. I'll put it all back together and post some faux toes.

Does hoplite make a QD Mount in 34mm with raptar rail? If so, I’d like to get my hands on one as well!

    Hi,

We do not make QD mount system. We pretty much make everything with the least amount of moving parts. "QD" is almost as bad as the term "Military Grade", lol.

    Sincerely,
    Theis

You wouldn't happen to have a spare accessory mount would you? :D

    Hi,

    Short or Long?

    Sincerely,
    Theis

So, just got this setup up and running. Completely eliminates the need for the Raptar factory-installed riser using the Spuhr A-0029C Raptar S Adapter.

It clears the UTC-X — the “B” did not, by a hair, but DID clear the UTC-Xii, and had no problem with the PVS-30 or PVS-24. The PVS-27 will likely still be a problem, but I can’t confirm until my upgraded WP 27 gets back from Jay’s grubby little hands. 😋

ETA: This is on a Spuhr 1.35” / 34mm centerline height above rail, because I wanted this rig to be perfectly inline with the UTC clip-ons. I presume a standard 1.5” high mount might have more of a chance of clearing a 27, which I also have and will check once my Super Special 27 comes home from Camp Sure Shot. 😁

    Horta, I’m not tracking.

Looks like you’re not using the QD that Felipe posted, correct?

Also sounds like you’re saying the C mount clears things the B wouldn’t. Aren’t they the same height, with only difference being the C is modified for Gen 1 S?

    Thanks.

ETA: I AM tracking your 27 is going to be NICE!

This is the only difference from the B and C adapters. The C’s pic rail section sits lower where shown in red.

Correct, this isn’t about the QD mount, but rather running the Raptar at it’s lowest profile setting without it being blocked by the clipon. Using the riser or QD mount makes the Raptar literally tower over the gun. It looks hideous and makes it unwieldy.

Not sure about the B/C Spuhr Raptar mount naming, just going by memory. They have one (my first one) that is about 1/4-3/8” lower. I really like it because you can mount the Raptar with just barely enough clearance over the scope so it looks and feels much more compact. Unfortunately, it won’t complerely clear the X.

I also have the 0021 abomination. The riser is required for that to work with the Raptar, but for other things, it’s fine. It’s also a tri-rail so I can go full Operator.

    Copy all, thanks Horta.
