Gunsmithing Removing swivel studs from McMillan stock?

Is it possible to remove the sling swivel studs from a McMillan fiberglass stock without messing it up too much?

I have a stock I'd like to use for an M40A1-type gun, but I'd need to remove the studs and install Wichita swivels.

Can this be done easily, or should I get another stock?
