I have a nice 1911 from one of my dads buddies that passed away. He was a very competent gunsmith and milled the slide (before this was cool) and threw a jpoint on it. The jpoint seems to be beyond saving. Tried some google searching and im not coming up with much. Anyone have any recommendations for a new pistol red dot to replace this? I think the new trijicon rmrsc should fit, but again kind of having an issue finding the footprint information for the jpoint.

Will add a picture later today.

Red dot sights that share this footprint:

    Shield RMS
    Shield RMSc
    Shield RMSw
    Shield SMS
    Sig Sauer Romeo Zero
    Leupold Delta Point Pro
    Swampfox Sentinel 1×16
    Vector Optics Frenzy-S 1x17x24 MIC
Any experience with any of these? I only have trijicons on my stuff atm. I have used holosuns on my buddies guns and like those. No experience with the shield stuff though. They appear to be cheap to me....

Might go with the delta point pro

I shot a swamp fox on a buddies pistol, tried helping him sight it in but it wouldnt hold zero. Literally my only rmr experience ever. Think they replaced it for him no charge but i havent got to try it since.

I have experience with RMR and shield RMS. Not with anything else.

Shield is a smallish company in the U.K. which pretty much created the RMR as you know it, then sold it under license to Firepoint, Tasco Optima, Trijicon RedDot or JPoint.

The rest followed suit with their versions. Differences is battery location and accessibility, battery life, lens material, manual vs auto brightness etc.

Also depends if you wants to buy U.K. / US or China.

Assuming Leupold is still Made in USA? I try to make that a concern when i can. I dont know about others on the list.
