Got to shoot yesterday and took 40 rounds of H1000 loads. I had previously shot only at 100yds with this rifle so I was interested in how accuracy would hold up at range. Two loads that were MOA at 100 were 74 and 76 grains. I loaded 10 rounds of 74, 75, 76, 77 each and used new brass for 5 and fireformed brass for 5.
JBM said I needed 12.5 MOA at 2800 fps (74 gr load) and 11.5 MOA at 2900 fps (76 gr load) . So what happened right?
74 grains shot MOA with both fire formed (5.5") and non FF (6")brass.
75 grains shot MOA with non FF brass (6") and with FF brass (6"). However there were 4 shots in 2.25" with the FF brass.
76 and 77 grains sucked but still held 5 shots to under 9" on all loads.
I adjusted my come ups after the first 5 shots to 11.25 MOA (I shot low to high powder load). I could have adjusted down another .25 moa with the two higher loads but I didn't.
All in all I was happy with what the rifle and my reloads did the first time at 600.
