Resole Danner Boots?

I apologize if this isn't in the correct spot. I have a pair of Danner Acadia boots and they need resoled. I have a local repair shop that gave me a quote of $75.00 this seems high to me. However with shipping them off can I get the soles replaced for any cheaper?

I recall a link on here from a few years back that an individual was doing quality repair however didn't find the post.

Get a pair of Russell Moccasins ! You wont buy any other boot again. Hand fitted,totally customizable,extremly tough,and customer service is tops!!!!

The father of a guy at the PD does them for $45 (at least that is what he was charging the last time I had a pair done). You can send me an email and I can put you in touch with him if you are interested.

The price is more if the sole is damaged beyond the initial sole and then you would have to figure shipping also......

They have done a pair of Materhorns for me and (2) pairs of Danners. The one pair of Danners I thought were beyond fixing, but I spoke to customer service and they said to send them and they would evaluate them. Got them back and I was very surprised. Good company and good turn around time.

Every pair of Danner boots I have had re-soled, squeaked afterwards. All were done at different local shops. I would go direct with Danner for the work if I were to do it again.

I have two pairs of Danner Acadia's that are in need of being resoled. I'm going to send them back to Danner to be done because the two other pair that I have that were done locally just don't feel right.

Check around your town FIRST. Had a pair of Acadia's that I had resoled locally and is cost $40 total. You never know until you call around etc.

I have had both Danners and Whites resoled at the factory and they all squeaked.

I had a set of Danner Acadia's wear out and have sent back three times in the last few years for recrafting. In the first overhaul, I had then replace the worn out stock Vibram sole with the Vibram Sierra pattern from the Desert Danners. The stock vibram soles clog up with mud. The vibram pattern from the desert Danners do not. Anyway each time when they were sent back, Danner evaluated what needed to be done and contacted me. Every time they were overhauled they came back as in almost new condition. I never had to worry about the water proofing and even the gortex booties torn leather and sewing were redone/replaced if needed. The overhauls they do on these boots are great. Just like anything they are not cheep but YOU USUALLY PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. If interested contact Danner boot recrafting. They will may your Danner boot better than new

Dave Page in Seattle is known as one of the if not the best cobbler. Not sure of his prices now but he was very reasonable, fast turn around and superb job. He will put what every color dot Vibram sole that you may want.

Danners are notorious for quick sole wear. When I was on active duty here, they lasted about 3 months, get them resoled then the toe would wear through in about another month. Have never been a Danner fan since. Maybe resole with red dot but the rubber is very hard wearing and can be slick.

I have dealt with http://www.militarybootrepair.com/index.html for years. I have also beta tested a sweet set of soles in OEF VII for lightweight summer issue boots.
They did two pairs of Danner's for me as well as a new pair of Matterhorns I wanted lightened.
If it's straight Danner boots and they could use a little TLC, send them back to Danner for an overhaul

I have had two pair of boots recrafted from danner and both experiences were great with exceptional results.
