Rifle Scopes Return to zero if bottomed out

Got a new rifle, came with a 20 moa rail on it. Took my scope in a 20moa one piece mount off my dmr style ar and put it on. So, I’ve got 40 moa built into my mount, which is more than I need, but I’m still able to hold a 100 yard zero, so I rolled with it, although I’m very very close to having the scope bottomed out.

I haven’t gotten a lot of trigger time due to work and kids, but was able to stretch her out to 1200 and when I came back in, it zeros about .6 off.

So to my question, do I call the manufacturer and have them check it out? Or could it be due to the zero being so close to one end of the adjustment, and I just need to buy a set of rings and ditch the mount.

Thoughts? And thanks in advance

If you can replicate the shift, try it with 20 MOA less to see if it shifts. If not, rings should work. If it still shifts, the scope is not right.

If you have a lot of patience, you could try to see how far you can go before your zero shifts and then decide if you're ok with the result.

Good idea. Thinking about attaching a rail to a board, making a redneck version of frank’s scope testing rig and really putting it through the paces before calling the manufacturer. I know they’ll take care of it if need be, but want to do my due diligence as well
