Rifle Scopes Revic Optics is launching

I'm looking forward to the group buy.

I just looked at the illustration on their brochure with the elk and the HUD displaying 1243Y. Then I realized that the range finder is not built into the optic, the optic just happens to be set for 1243Y while the elk is at fifty yards, because if the elk crossed that many MOA at 1243Y he would have to be 942' tall.

While I'm excited they are trying something new,

The quoting of MOA from these guys is too bad.... I owned one of the first G7's, and talked with them several times about how stupid MOA only electronics were. Years later, after I had moved on, they finally offered a MIL version. Hopefully this will come with mil from the start.

Same as many here, would like to have seen offered in mrad, off the bat.

Also, wondering if, in the future, the scope's bluetooth interface could be made to sync with a capable LRF?
That'd be some hot shit...

See what happens when you invite people over and give them free beer and a soft couch for too long? They start complaining the beer isn't cold enough and the couch is too lumpy. I'm not sure, but I think I've heard buying your own beer and couch are the solution if you're not satisfied.

And while, like most, I'm waiting for mils, and to see how the ballistic calculator works, just seeing the bubble level in the display has me excited. I mused here weeks or months ago why we don't see that, and here it is. With so much more as well. Okay, you've got my interest.

I'm not sure it makes any difference to me what clutters up the reticle. Pretty clear all you need is a good LRF then twiddle the knob till the mumber in the HUD matches the LRF. MOA, Mills what ever is just clutter. If should not be that big of an adgustment if you had to calulate a range with a MOA scope.

Agree, but if the internal system failed (for whatever reason), shooter could easily revert to manual controls using mrad based reticle/data that so many have preference for.

As for the LRF interface, I was thinking more along the lines of this. When the LRF 'locks' in on target distance, the corresponding 'dial to' HUD range could somehow be highlighted when the adjusted dope is dialed true. All that would take is something simple to light up in the HUD to confirm that dialed dope & RLF distance are synced & true...

Just sayin', you're gonna dumb shit down with technology to this level, ya might as well go the whole 9 yards and offer that, too...
