Looking for first hand experiences on the Zeiss V6 5-30 models. Reviews are pretty spotty, but the scopes havn't been out all that long. I did find this one, http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/zeiss-v6-tracking.6868752/ OP seemed to have some issues with tracking.
I'm primarily looking for a 2nd focal plane optic with MOA based Reticle, Good Turrets, Zero Stop, and Good Glass, 4-5 Minimum power and 25 or so on the top, Max budget of $1600 and <30 OZ.
Zeiss keeps coming up because it checks all the boxes. This will primarily be a long range hunting optic so it needs to have good glass and reliable turrets. Any long range shooting is done at known ranges and I prefer to dial for shots in lieu of using a reticle so tracking is very important. Weight is also a serious consideration, The V6 is on the upper end of what I'm comfortable with, but acceptable at 27.9 oz. I've only owned one other Zeiss scope, an HD5 5-25 and wasn't entirely thrilled with that one, but the V6 on paper is a much better optic. V6 doesn't have nearly the amount of elevation or windage adjustment of a more tactical oriented scope w/ a 34mm Tube, but for my uses it should be more than sufficient.
Any first hand experiences with these scopes? I'm probably going to be buying it sight unseen because I can't seem to find one locally to look at.
