I'm taking a trip out to Utah in two weeks and can't decide what to bring out with me.
Out shooting should take place at 5-7500' asl.
There is no question I'm bringing my 6.5 Rem mag AI with a 12-42 NF.
I've been saving the barrel for trips like this.
I'm leaning towards the AR for fun and economy up to 7-800 and the 308 for doing long range load development.
The AI is just so accurate that I'd like to push it to its limits.
It is also the most hiking friendly rifle I could bring.
The issue I see is spotting hits at any serious ranges.
My friend who lives out there has a bunch of nice mil surp Mausers so I thought it might be fun to compare them with the K-31.
We'll be shooting at rocks and various steel targets.
Opinions?
