What a day! Our local trap and range had their annual Turkey Shoot, which is only a few miles from my house. So, I decided to take the family and go to enjoy the day since they had several different events that one could enter:
Trap Shoot
Splatterboard (40yds)
Pistol All Calibers (40yds)
22 (40yds)
High Power Rifle (100 yds)
All of these events are 1 shot cold bore I didn't find this out until after I got there.
First event that we participated in was the 22 which not only myself entered in, but, so did my 2 daughters. Now mind you the blonde is 9 and the burnette is 10. One would think that he would have a chance. Well think again. They BOTH beat me with my own Bergara!! My 9yo Cooper, actually won 1st and my 10yo Brinkley won 2nd. Not real sure where I placed I was in that proud Dad moment. Now, I didn't hear the end of that one, but, being the good sport I am I took it beings they had the proof to back it up.
1st place winner!
1st & 2nd place!
2nd Event of the day, the pistol shoot all calibers @ 40yds. Now, with this event I didn't let my daughters enter, weeding out the competition I guess one would say LOL, I didn't want them waving a pistol around, which is what I told them. I won this event! I call it my Frakenruger LOL. It is a Ruger Mark IV with a volquartsen 6" upper.
Now for the main event of the day! High Power Rifles at 100 yds. I asked if they would allow to shoot a .22 and they actually laughed and said sure. Brinkley tied for first place using the Rim X!!
This is a photo of her target that got her tied with the older gentleman in the photo beneath that she had to have a shoot out with. He was a great sport also!
They did have another round for the 22 rifles and I finally beat the girls and the rest of the gang with my Bergara!!
I hope you all enjoyed our little family outing!
