I want to build a precision rifle for my son so that he can shoot with me when I take the Vudoo out. I have a CZ 455 that I'm going to mount in a MDT chassis, and I want to mount a SWFA SS 10X42 scope on it. What I don't know is which ring height is appropriate for this mount. I'm going to get a set of 11 mm dovetail mounts for the scope as I don't want to go through the expense of adding a rail. Also, I've heard that the MDT chassis, when used with an AR buttstock, places the shooter's eye pretty low, so I'm concerned that too tall a ring will make it hard for my son to get a proper cheek weld. I suppose that I could always go with an XLR stock, but that will add another $225.00 to the rifle in addition to the chassis. Quite frankly, I'm broke after purchasing the Vudoo lol. If anyone out there knows the answer to my question, I'd appreciate the guidance. Thank you.

I'm using Warne "High" rings on mine. Link

The bolt handle barely clears the ocular bell.

ETA: I had to add a cheek pad to mine. There wasn't any way around it. I made my own out of leather but a lace-on/strap-on would work just as well.

Thanks for that CNJarvis. I hadn't even considered bolt lift clearances. Yeah, low or medium rings could be a problem.

NP. Happy to help. I believe the CZ/BRNO forum has a chart in the stickies that lists some scope/ring combos that worked but I haven't been over there in a while.

As I said above, I had to add a cheek pad to mine.

I may just go with the high rings and see how it works out with cheek weld. Like I said, I can always get the XLR buttstock. The cheek riser on those will get the job done. Sigh......it's just money, right? lol
