I'm sure someone here is using a similar trainer. I'm using a savage MkII TRR with the supplied mount. I have a SWFA SS 10x. The rings I will be using are Burris xtr tactical. Can anyone tell me what height I need? I accidentally bought some 1" low rings; though they obviously didn't fit it seemed they may have been too low.

Thanks for any help!

Depends on which bases the factory used. My 2 savages - both Pre-E heavy barrels, one 22lr and one 22wmr had different height bases - the 22wmr needed super-extra-high rings to clear a 50mm objective, the 22lr with the same scope and rings has plenty of clearance.

Thanks much for the replies! I suspect medium will be necessary.

I hate running the numbers to calculate height. It always ends in me getting the wrong ring and having to wait an extra week to get to the range. This time I may just buy both heights up front and return the other. Consistently the most irritating part of new builds, next to leveling the scope.

Pulled this from the thread linked above, best info in 217 posts and it was lucky 13. KISS!

For the record, ended up with medium rings. There's probably a quarter inch between the scope and barrel, but it seems to feel close enough at the eyepiece.

Thanks for the help!
