I bought my first 22lr today...a CZ 452 Silhouette. Im going to bed it and float the barrel. I need some help with rings and a scope. I have no clue when it comes to 22LR Rings. And scope? Ill probably tote this around and shoot groundhogs / rabbits / stray cats etc. 3 - 9x be ok?

Re: Rings - Scope - HELP

Check out DIP for bases and other stuff.(mag well :0) My personal prefference is for higher magnification with parralax adj. I went with a Scheels 6x18 hunter that I think works well for ~$250. 3x9 will work fine as long as you always mount gun the same.(cheek weld, reduce parralax shift)

believe it or not, i'm actually quite impressed with these rings:

UTG max Strength Quick Detachable rings

i like 4-12 or 4-16 range of power in a hunting optic - enough magnification to see somthing at a distance, yet low enough at 4X to get a close up squirrel shot.

a low dollar scope that has yet to let me down yet in 4-5 years of heavy use in most conditions is a centerpoint.

there's alot of scopes to choose from depending on what your budget is, how much shooting your going to do, the type of shooting you'll do, etc. i like the mildots and turrets, at least a 40mm objective.

if you already have a 3-9 toss it on temporarily and see how much you want to invest later once you decide what you want.
