Apparently, Gene Hackman and his wife were found dead in his Santa Fe home. He was 95.

Yup. So far, they're saying foul play is not involved, but if the dog was killed as well... either a Gas(CO) leak or something... Not sure.
If the authorities are saying "no foul play," then I gather they didn't find any trauma to the bodies that would indicate a "Daniel Penny" scenario.
And to "Daniel Penny" the dog????
They didn't say no foul play, they said no significant signs of foul play which could mean anything including no signs of a struggle. Hackman was 95, his wife 63 so they wouldn't exactly be hard to subdue and strangle. As for the dog, it's a dog. Literally every breed of dog can be strangled by an average man.

I'm not much of a western fan other than reruns of Gunsmoke, but I loved The Quick And The Dead. If you're a fan of movies with dueling, that movie is for you!
Wasn't he a turncoat liberal? Just asking, but yeah he played some mean assed characters in the movies and at least they were all great.
Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. If you are awake and about inside a building with it you get a bulging headache that should tell you but when sleeping you'll never know.

I was curious what he looked like in his 90s, since he dropped out of the spotlight way back in 2008.

so you dont like the Quick and the Dead? come on, that movie aged extremely well. a little out of the ordinary with the angled shots and the zooms but it was unique, not really predictable and entertaining. Hackman was really hateable and what a credit to him as an actor.
An in-her-prime Sharon Stone couldn’t carry that abomination. No, it was terrible. Even as a kid, when the black guy gets a massive cavernous hole blown through him from a handgun I was all “WTF? Sorry I can’t say F. But, this S is F’d.” Then Gene is standing there, looking at a pin hole of light in his shadow? I can’t even with this garbage.
Shit I forgot about him until I saw this. Crimson tide and unforgiven were probably my favorites of his.
Forgot both of those as well. Even though his part in Young Frankenstein was short, it was utterly hilarious.
i am shocked a movie would have embellishments and scenes that differ from reality. Who would ever do such a thing?

TMZ apparently has a copy of the search warrant for the house. And they are at odds with the County Sheriff. Supposedly, Gene and his wife were found in separate rooms with the dog about 10-15 ft. away. The Gas Company has ruled out CO poisoning, (or at least the conditions for it), but we shall see. At this point, I'm starting to believe TMZ more than the Sheriff's office. Autopsy to follow. Furthermore, a family member had entered he house for a "wellness check" and found them, and called the Sheriff's office.

Well, apparently, the wife was found in the bathroom slumped over, with the dog about 10-15 ft. away. Gene was found in his "Mud" room. cane and all. So, unless that's where they chose to sleep..... I am also told that there were two other dogs on the property that were not affected. Maybe they were outside or out of the AO.
My bad... yeah, loved that movie!
Wasn't especially artistic. But the film was entertaning as hell and had some great characters!

I didn't even remember him in YF! Bridge Too Far was a small role, of a really important figure. Bat 21 was a big role, but had little resemblance to the real Iceal Hambelton (SP). But all great movies!
It's a tribute to an actor when you can't remember all the great movies they are in!!!
