Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

If you are going to mount a 1" or an 30mm scope, have you considered just using Burris Signature Zee rings rather than an angled riser? I have done this on two DPMS LRs and have been very pleased with each setup.

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

The Badger 22 moa riser is the common answer for this question. It is not QD, but it is solid. That being said, I have one, and would trade you for your LT-101, because I don't really need the cant, and the QD makes more sense for my build (SPR.)

I sent you a PM to that effect.

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

Tell you what- if you decide to buy the ARM's, or anything else for that matter, shoot me a PM on the lt-101, I'm interested in it.

+1! I run the LT-158 on a couple different rifles and it is great (if 10MOA is enough cant for your purposes).

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

If Mark has any built that will fit a 5-25 TPal's erector assembly....

I'd rather have a good mount for the 5-25 and mount a secondary dot optic (JPoint or Micro T1 Aimpoint) if you find yourself with a close shot.

Like LaRue stuff....

Dont like their rings......

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

I don't believe the LT-158 has enough space for the T-Pal housing. I did write Larue and ask about the version large enough for the T-Pal, I never recieved a reply and took that as there were none to be had.
I have not had a problem with the LT-101 riser, returns to zero perfectly. However, I also have an American Defense AD Recon (also not enough space for the T-Pal) and I like that system better, also no problem with return to zero. AD is supposed to have a version of the AD Recon SW with built in MOA released....anytime. Waiting to hear from them on that one too.

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

Look into the Bobro QD mounts. I know this is a little bit of a stretch, but they're modular, and it wouldn't be much for a machinist to remove the upper portion of the mount (it's two threaded studs with nuts on them)and machine some cant on the bottom, and re-assemble. It really would be very simple. The Bobro I have is about 1.375" from center of ring to top of the rail, and you're not going to find a better QD mount. Distance between the rings is ~2.87". I'm actually considering doing this on mine if I decide I want some cant....I'm sort of in the same boat. I want a decent short range scope for my 16" AR10 SASS, but also want quick CQB capabilities like an Aimpoint, which I have on an ARMS mount already. I'm just not sure I need any moa on a 16" rifle that'll probably never shoot past 800yds. On my 20" AR10T I'm using the 22moa Badger and fixed rings. I don;t see the need for QD on that rifle as I don;t even have BUIS on it.
ETA: In regards to the ARMS stuff...I heard a while back that ARMS was having quality ocntrol issues, but there was a lot of heresay and nonsense...I think there was a lot of BS being thrown around by "competitors" and not sure if any of it was true. It was a big discussion deal on ARF.com, so keep that in context.
Sorry for rambling.

Re: Riser with built in MOA for an AR10

Steelcomp, thanks for your input. I'm glad to hear the Bobro's are GTG, but I don't believe they offer 35mm rings. I will look into them though for alteration potential. I will probably just stick with my LT-101 until a one piece unit or a QD riser with 20 MOA is available from Larue or AD. I have the 24" AR10T and swap out night vision regularly (the cyotes like to eat my wifes chickens). I also like the ability to put the "big" US Optics glass on the .300 win mag and put a leupold fixed 10x M3A on the AR10T (I have it in an AD mount).

Cool. Sounds like you know what you're looking for.
Here's a pic just so you can see what I'm talking about. IIRC, they did offer a 35mm, but they're pretty focused on military contracts from what I hear, and not sure how we'll they're keeping up with the retail market. It really is an awsome mount if you can find one.
