Rock Chucker Supreme

Quick newbie question... been reloading for a couple months and the Tennessee heat is convincing me to move my reloading out of the garage and into the house. Currently using an old Lee classic turret that has produced some nice 6.5 CM. I am thinking about keeping the Lee in the garage for 556/223 when I get around to loading those. Thinking about buying a new single stage press for the inside.

Any negatives on the rock chucker supreme 9356? I think I saw it’s casted in China but haven’t heard much negative on quality. Not looking to move up to the co ax at this time based on cost and waiting list. Only other press I am researching is the big boss 2.

extra context... running Redding type s fl and comp seater. Also a Sinclair mandrel

I've reloaded on both and to be honest, I didn't see any difference on the target or in ES/SD numbers; the Rock Chucker Supreme is $50-$75 less than the Big Boss II, depending on where you shop, but with good dies (which you have) either will do the job.

I've done all my reloading in my lifetime on a Rockchucker 2 and have never wanted or needed for anything else. It produces consistent and accurate ammo. I can only see the reason to go with something different is if you're wanting to load for larger rounds (338 Lapua is tight in mine).

Scheels has Co-Ax's in stock, FWIW. Piles of them every time i'm in there and you can order them online. It's a good press and the ability to switch dies without having to worry about accidentally changing the setup is my main selling point. That and no shell holders.

The Rockchucker will churn out just as concentric of ammo as the co-ax or really anything on the market, so no worries there.

I have a Redding Boss single state press. I use it to load rifle calibers that I do not shoot much and to form cases. The Redding is a well made piece of equipment and I have no issues with its function or the quality of its workmanship. However, I would not recommend it, preferring to recommend a Big Boss. Reason, the Boss is a touch short for 30-06 sized cases.

The Big Boss, being made in America would definitely be my recommendation. Also, a Dillion 550 can be used as a single stage and works quite well in that regard.

I went ahead and picked up a rock chucker. Probably should have waited for a rebel but I’m only loading 6.5 cm, I decap and prime off the press. Seems solid so far. Only resized but took a lot less torque than the Lee turret for sure. One thing I noticed is that when I run the ram, around the halfway mark there feels like so slight resistance almost like it is barely rubbing the side probably nothing. Won’t know if there is a problem till I load some rounds.

I have a Rockchucker that I have used for 15+ years and I love it. Also got the RCBS progressive press for my handgun loads about 8 years ago, but I still use the Rockchucker single-stage press for all of my rifle loading and it works great. You won't go wrong with the Rockchucker.
