Anyone have one of RRAs in a 308 in a 20" std barrel??? If so how do they shoot and function??? How well do they work with a suppressor if anyone has tried one??? Thanks Guys!!!!!

Re: Rock River Arms 308s

I have the 16" Mid-length and 26" Varmint models. I have a friend who just bought the 20" model. Both have mine have shot great and are very reliable and accurate, even with a suppressor on.

My friends 20" model was shooting 1" groups with surplus ammo last week when we shot it for the first time. He doesn't have a suppressor.

Re: Rock River Arms 308s

I can answer the suppressor issue. I use a Gemtech HVT on my GAP SASS. Without a regulator it does throw some gas blowback in my face but it isn't too bad. I am waiting for Noveske to build a 308 regulator to see how that will work. There are no issues with using a suppressor on a gas gun as it works fine but it does get really dirty so expect top clean it more often.

Re: Rock River Arms 308s

Thanks guys!! I am getting the Gemtech HVT for my bolt gun and wanted to use it on a gas gun. I have a M1A but have heard they are not a good platform for suppressors so was looking at going to one of the AR10 systems.

JSTARSZ,
How do you like the HVT is it pretty quiet compared to other suppressors or do you know?? How well does it quiet down your rifle?? Doesn't someone already make an adjustable gas regulator for the AR10s??

On the 308 bolt gun and with my muffs on it is hard to tell the rifle discharged. It reduces the recoil to about a 22 Magnum. On the 308 SASS all I can hear is the spring next to my ear recoil and release. I have shot it with out ears on and you hear the crack of the bullet but you can stand the sound. I would not do that as a practice but I wanted to hear how loud it is. I have not shot it next to another suppressor as none of friends have one. I have also shot the HVT on my 223 Mini-SASS and it reduces the sound quite a bit but I have decided to get a dedicated 223 suppressor because I think it would be better with a smaller hole.

I don't know of anyone making a regulator for the 308 yet but I am waiting for one. May be someone on here knows of one.
