I just received my AICS 3 days ago so im still in honeymoon period with it.
Im also looking to get a Roedale brake for my rifle, so what im looking at in your pics almost (exception of action and scope) fits the picture of what im after.

Nice Roedale, as always. You'll be really happy with Petes work, as I am with my Roedale.
Was a bit confused about the bolt angle, looked like it was not properly locked, but thats just the groove for the bolt handle being deeper than (cosmetically) necessary.

Only just seen this thread, glad you are happy with the rifle garmer. was good to see you again and finaly deliver.
The chassis system is our own, its not an AICS, but it is machined for the 90° remington bolt throw and not the 60° of the Avenger II. which gives you some clearance under the handle, I think I might have to invent a blanking piece, or we will just alter the machining program and make 2 types of bolt handle cut out.
The pannels are AI, we are due to have our own shortly,

Dear Garmer: Can you say when you did the order the rifle to Pete Lincoln? I did the order, and paid 100 %, of a rifle one almost equal to his 19 months ago, and I am still hoping that Pete should send to me my rifle. Till now I only have obtained excuses.

shooter1968, you know that we are waiting on the export permission to be able to send your rifle. No update from me means that the situation hasn't changed yet, but as soon as it does you will be informed, I also do not think that such matters are a topic for public discussion and feel that you are only trying to add pressure to a situation I can do nothing about.
But to clear. Yes its taken a good while to get all the parts together to build your rifle.But that seems unfortunately to be the way of things when one is importing nearly all the parts for custom 1 of a kind build, it can and indeed does take up to 12 -15 months and even longer in some cases to get some parts.
The situation does not suit me as a rifle builder at all,( I hate it) it doesn't suit customers, and it makes it absolutely impossible to say exactly how long a rifle will take to put together, regular parts supply is my biggest nightmare but when customers specify particular parts that are hard to come by,there is no way around it but to order those parts through whatever channels possible and simply wait until they are supplied.
If it is any consolation, Garmer waited longer than you. But he waited for the developement of components as much as on parts supply. Reliance on supply of parts that are restricted by problematic export regulations in other countries, the apparent lack of interest on the part of the component manufacturer in supplying small numbers of parts, the associated export burocracy to be able to export simply make the matter right royal pain in the rear and means waiting waiting and more waiting. Ive come to the conclusion that the only way around it is to base rifles on localy manufactured, own design components for the most part, coupled with selected imported parts from manufacturers who have proved to be reliable, quick and interested in doing business within Europe. This is what I have been working towards over the last 3 years and as you can see if you check our website will feature in ALL future builds manufactured in our workshop.
Please take any further correspondance via email. As soon as the EU transfer paperwork is back from the Authorities we can book the rifle in with the courier and it will be shipped straight out. Untill the papers are back with the OK stamp, the rifle isn't moving an inch. Please understand that. Thankyou for your patience

I dont mean to appear rude but i cant fathom the business sense not to answer clients. Just a simple "oh we are having problems but i will sort it for you" would have been fine no problem.

De Silva. to be honest, ive seen no fax, no email and had no phone call about an outstanding T4A. and ive seen no order cancellation either and as i do all the refunds, i would have. Are you sure you've contacted the right fax-tel nr ? we changed numbers a while back, are you contacting the old numbers by any change? Geoff may have overlooked making a note from a single phonecall, but emails and fax i generaly see all.
If you want to call any time this week during the morning, Geoff will come get me in the workshop.( the correct number is on our website. bare in mind however that the phone here rings from 07.00 till 19.00 non stop. if its engaged, then the system rings and doesn't give an engaged tone. Best contact is on the email addy: [email protected] for accessories, quoting order number. or drop me an email with your contact nr as i would like to get to the bottom of why you couldnt get ahold of us.
As you probably are aware, When it comes to supply, we, like any other wholesaler or retailer can only supply end customers as soon as we recieve. and as a rule cant promise delivery dates on kit that is imported as there are just too many agencies( state dept, US customs, US postal service or fed ex, exporter, German customs in Frankfurt, german postal service of fed ex, german customs local office) involved that can twiddle thier thumbs and cause weeks, months and even years of delay.
And without wanting to flame any of the US manufacturers, we Europeans are not a priority for the US firearms industry. I have, for example, been waiting now for some 30 months on the delivery of 2 stocks from a particular US manufacturer (not Manners composits) and at least 24 months on another couple of stocks from another company. And when listening around the whole of the EU trade, everyone is bitching about the difficulty of getting anything out of the US these days.
Unfortunately when delivery dates are quoted, and we pass that info on, its us that look like idiots when those estimates get stretched.
When one contemplates however the hassle it takes to get registered as an exporting manufacturer, then to obtain export permits etc, it is no wonder that, with the size of the US gun industry and thier home market, there is little interest in some companies in exporting.
As far as i know our Manners shipment is shipped from the manufacturer and is sat at the exporters warehouse awaiting forwarding past the US customs and on to us. We had hoped to have had a shipment sooner,indeed some of the shipment is replacement for a previouse shipment that was due here in Feb 2009 !! which was stopped and then lost by US customs.
Burocracy of one sort or another seems to prevail and chuck a spanner in the works time and time again. And at the end of the day, its my time wasted chasing it up.Regular reliable supply of import parts is the biggest pain in the ass i have to deal with, and im sick to my back teeth of it.

well what you want to know Gyr.
from start to present date ive been ripped of by 2 german action manufacturing companies and its probably cost in the region of a million € in lost sales due to manufacturers not delivering on time, what they promised and in the quality and quantity they promised. not to mention design theft and selling behind my back and the cost of investment on top.
But no one ever said it was gonna be easy the action has developed through a progressive upgrade programme because of this and been improved at every step and has now about 3 1/5 years of constant R&D, testing and upgrading in the design that is now marketable in numbers.
Every part has been considered, treid tested, re considered, re treid tested, etc Its certainly designed to function in all environments and to be one of the very best european rifle actions ever made.
Ive learned some valuable lessons about who to trust, and how to protect products not to mention a lot about German contract law.
The ball is rolling steadily, (not as fast as id like, but some things cant be rushed)
By the end of the year we should see several versions to cover the main percieved requirement.
Ask any questions you want answered,
full specs will appear on the website update which will occur over the next several weeks.
And another 2 lug bolt action is on the cards for next year.

Somehow i always managed to stand in the dog poo. despite promises to the contrary, the original Av I machinist was unable to upgrade the action like i wanted, started stealing customers behind my back,whilst ripping me off billing kit never delivered. So i kicked him into touch. Solicitor is on the case now.
take another look around, the arse that was supposed to manufacture the II was selling a very very similar one on egun before he'd even delivered anything to me. whole thing was set up to rip me off. Then to make up numbers he deliverd his waste to me. 75% of the shipment wasn't to spec or usable. so much for german enginnering,.,.
anyhow, they both cut thier nose off to spite thier face,
3rd time lucky, at least the search for the right company for the right job has been fruitfull and ability, capacity and QC vastly improved along the way. Not to mention supply agreements and trust,.
I'm deliberating on the supermag ( .338 lap) action or the long ( 30-06 -300win) which to run first, to be honest we've more demand at the mo from customers wanting the .338.

If one observes our opening times, we are usualy easy enough to get. 08.00-13.30 CET monday-thursday. we observe German bank holidays, which are different to the UK. If we are on vaccation or away at an exhibition it normaly says so on the website. The phone is VERY busy mind,it does not give an engaged tone when in use, it just rings and gives a fax type beeping at the end. The answer machine isnt on because we haven't the time to listen to it, so if you can't get through, an email is the best way.
