Took these stills off a short video that is making the rounds. This is from the South Korean armies 707 special mission unit. One is obviously a Barrett M 82 but has a brake on it.

Not really sure what the bolt action is. I know they have MRAD‘s, but wondered what the rifle is because I don’t think it’s an MRAD.

Perhaps something domestically produced by Daewoo? Anyone know what the scope is?

Not necessarily vintage, but the best brains are here!

In 2017 I spent 6 months imbedded with ROK SF/SOF task forces for the “decapitation” mission. I worked predominantly with the SF Brigades but as a sniper SME I got to spend a little time with the 707 as well.

During that deployment the 707s main 50cal was the AW50 equipped with S&B of some flavor I can’t recall as pictured here in the OP. In general the ROK sniper program as a whole was lacking to put it nicely. The 707 at least had the benefit of access non-domestic platforms, the K14 was…problematic.

In 2021-22 I worked as one of the contracted demonstration shooters for the solicitation of the M107A1(20”) SWS package with the Leupold Mk5 that was adopted (pictured here as well).
