Gov. DeSantis is expected to meet with law enforcement figures in crime-ridden blue areas — including Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is expected to meet with law enforcement figures in crime-ridden blue areas — including Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia — touting his approach to crime and support of law enforcement in the Sunshine State, as speculation of a 2024 presidential bid continues to dominate the narrative.


DeSantis has long capitalized on his administration’s support for law enforcement, particularly in the wake of protests, riots, and rising crime over the past few years in blue jurisdictions. While calls to “defund police” dominated the narrative, DeSantis made it clear that Florida would do no such thing, going in the opposite direction by announcing initiatives to recruit police officers to Florida with incentives including signing bonuses, out-of-state relocation support, and an academy scholarship program.


DeSantis outlined those specific plans in 2021 during the National Fraternal Order of Police-hosted 2021 Biennial National Conference & Expo, and he has continued to tout the bonuses as a major political victory amid calls to defund police.


The DeSantis administration has also taken action to curb violent crime in the form of 2021’s anti-riot bill, as well as last year’s targeting of woke prosecutors, suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren.

“We are going to make sure that our laws are enforced and that no individual prosecutor puts himself above the law,” DeSantis said at the time, explaining that communities were becoming unsafe “thanks to prosecutors that think they know better than the people’s representatives, and they get to pick and choose which laws that they’re enforcing.”

Notably, in January, a Florida judge upheld DeSantis’s decision to suspend Warren.

Now, DeSantis is taking his advice outside of the Sunshine State, meeting with police officers in Staten Island on Monday, followed by Philadelphia suburb Fort Washington, and Elmhurst, Illinois, this week.

According to Fox 13:

Paul DiGiacomo, president of New York City’s Detectives’ Endowment Association, said he will be attending Monday’s event. He told Fox News Digital that New York’s bail reform law that ended cash bail requirements for many criminal charges has endangered law enforcement.
“It’s a law enforcement rally to send a message back to some of our elected officials that the laws that they have enacted in the state of New York are not working — specifically the bail reform laws — and it’s putting my members, detectives and cops in danger, as well as the public,” he said. “It’s gone too far to the left over the last couple of years.”

DeSantis’s trips to these blue jurisdictions comes months after Florida’s Republican victories in the midterm election, prompting the governor to deem Florida the political “blueprint” moving forward.

“The one place I think that people can look to as a blueprint is Florida, because what have we done? … We led and we were on offense, and we didn’t shy away from big issues. We took on those issues, and we won victory after victory for the people,” he said.

The main thing that everybody needs to realize, is that leftist governments DO NOT want to reduce or eliminate crime. The constant presence of crime and the atmosphere of fear and unease that this miasma instills in the population is what the leftists need to implement more draconian policies, like:

Suffocating and predatory new taxes on businesses, which are their own version of the gangland protection racket,

Curfews of businesses and mandatory closing ordinances after certain hours which puts severe limitations on how a business can operate,

Gun restrictions and outright bans against law abiding people while armed criminals are ignored and allowed to continue to prey on the public,

Curfews of entire neighborhoods which in essence are mini lockdowns similar to China's COVID response,

Forcing or coercing businesses and people to switch to cashless currency under the pretense of helping them "avoid being targeted by robbers", but in reality, is just one more step towards total state control,

Use the crime problem as propaganda to convince simple-minded government freebie beggars with no capability of critical thinking that "climate change and racism" are the cause of crime, creating support among the simple minded for more draconian climate and "hate speech" policies. It does not take much effort for a leftist propagandist to correlate high crime with "climate change", and suddenly turn the crime issue into an urgent call to ban gas stoves and ban gas cars. And the simple thinkers which make up a vast percentage of a leftist enclave will buy into even such ludicrous bullshit easily, because they either don't care or do not have the capacity to see beyond what they are being fed by their freebie benefactors.

Why do you think sites like Youtube are actively removing the channels of organizations that spend so much effort in catching sick and disgusting pedophiles? Why are they removing a lot of firearm content that promotes safe and responsible gun use in sporting and defensive situations, but allow violent incels and mumble rappers to freely post inflammatory content with no consequences? Why are leftist governments actively prosecuting and demonizing those who fought back against criminals using force, but letting actual murderers and rapists walk free with no bail? It is all intentional.

Pretty much this, there are already large cities so far in the hurt locker they are in a death spiral and can’t be saved, for example San Francisco. San Francisco has put themselves into a homeless problem that is now so extreme they would have to send in the national guard to clear it out by force, which they obviously won’t do. Crime and drugs are so bad that no one goes into the city proper after dark. The death blow is tax paying businesses are leaving in droves, I read last week a large corporation just threw the keys back to the bank on a 500 million dollar mall because of the crime and homeless. San Francisco will be a literal ghost town in the near future, without any retail services including food for residents. This is the model for most blue cities, with more than a few already well down the same road, Seattle, Chicago, and Portland at the top of the list.

I’m not familiar with the suburbs of other cities he’s going to, but Elmhurst, IL politically speaking, is much more conservative than most of the Chicago area. It’s more of a 50/50 split. As you go east towards downtown, it instantly turns liberal. Of course, Elmhurst also does not have the crime issues the city of Chicago has. Shocker. He’s going to the Chicago are, but he’s not going to the crime ridden liberal areas and I’m sure, they are not going to hear what he has to say. I suspect it might be the same in the other cities he’s going to.
