Received my rifle from William for the second time. A work of art again
and this time it shoots great! .480 and .430 for the 1st 6 rounds fired.
The story:
I originally sent my barrel and action to William. He installed the barrel and did the coating. I bedded it when it returned. Took the rifle out over the next 1-1/2 months and tried to find a load that would shoot. 4 powders, 2 bullets and 2 primers, checked EVERYTHING machanical. No luck. All the time William is on the phone with me at LEAST once a DAY trying to figure it out.
William tells me, maybe its the bedding. Send it to him and he will rebed it for free (I did the original bedding). OK, he rebeds it. I get it back. still a no go. After all the troubleshooting we come to the conclusion its the barrel.
I called the barrel manufacturer and they told me that once in a great while for whatever reason there is one that just won't shoot. Send it back and we will replace it.
Got a second barrel. William tells me he will rebuild the rifle at no charge. I told him it obviously wasn't his fault and he should be paid.
NOPE! your not happy, send it back and I'll rebuild it.
Got the rifle back yesterday, put six rounds thru it in the yard .480 and .430. I think it's fixed!!!!
I am just overwhelmed that he spent SO much time and money to get the rifle right. He now has a loyal customer. I hope I can send him enough work to recover the cost on this one!
A huge THANKS William.
Yah, Shorty shoots great.
Will talk soon about my the next project.
Best,
